Introduction
ResiCare Staffing Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. We have a zero tolerance approach to it.
ResiCare Staffing Ltd is not required to publish a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, because our turnover is below the £36 million threshold. We have chosen to publish this statement voluntarily because we believe it is the right thing to do, and because the sector we work in, supplying temporary staff, can carry a higher risk of labour exploitation if it is not properly managed.
Our business
ResiCare Staffing Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17381374), incorporated on 4 August 2026, with its head office in Leicester. We are a recruitment agency and employment business. We supply temporary staff to children's homes, supported accommodation, crisis services and secure units across the Midlands and the North West of England.
The workers we supply are engaged as self-employed contractors. We are a small and newly established business, which means our directors are closely involved in recruitment and in our relationships with workers and clients.
Our main suppliers include our DBS umbrella body (uCheck), online training provider (Vocational Training Hub), IT and email provider (Google Workspace), banking and payroll provider (Tide) and job advertising services such as CV-Library.
Our approach
Recruitment and right to work
- We carry out right to work checks on every worker, in line with Home Office guidance, before they start any assignment.
- We verify identity using original or verified documents, and we meet every worker in person or by live video interview.
- We are alert to signs that a worker may be under the control of someone else, for example where several workers share the same bank account, address or telephone number, where a third party insists on speaking for a worker, or where a worker does not have access to their own identity documents. We investigate any such signs.
- We never hold on to a worker's passport or other identity documents.
Fair pay and no fees to workers
- We pay workers directly, at the rates agreed with them, into a bank account in their own name or the name of their own limited company.
- We do not charge workers any fee for finding them work or for registering with us, in line with the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
- We do not make unlawful deductions from workers' pay, and we are clear and open with workers about rates and payment terms before they start work.
Supply chain
- Our supply chain is small and mostly made up of UK based professional and service providers.
- We expect our suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to take appropriate steps to prevent modern slavery in their own businesses and supply chains.
- We will review our key suppliers during our first year and introduce modern slavery clauses into key supplier contracts where appropriate.
Policies
This statement is supported by our safeguarding policy, whistleblowing policy and data protection policy, together with our right to work checks and our commitment never to charge workers fees for finding them work.
Awareness
- Our directors understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in recruitment and in the care sector.
- We make workers aware of how to raise concerns, including through our whistleblowing arrangements and the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline.
